Will Drafting
Whether you need to make a new Will or change your existing Will, Kennan Doyle Solicitors can assist. We can assure you that your matter will be dealt with by a fully qualified solicitor who is experienced in Will drafting.
When making a Will with us you would usually book in to see us for your initial appointment where you provide instructions to enable us to prepare a draft Will. The draft Will will then be sent out to you for approval at which time you will contact us to make an appointment for signing. We provide the two independent witnesses required in order to have your Will executed. We also offer a free of charge storage facility where we will hold your original Will and provide you with a certified copy.
When you attend your initial appointment you do not need to bring anything with you. However, we advise you to consider the following things:-
- Who would you like to have as your Executor? These are the people who will carry out the wishes of your Will. This should be someone that you can trust to handle your affairs. We suggest having two Executors and they can also be a beneficiary
- Any funeral wishes
- Any specific legacies, gifts to charities or any items that that you wish to gift. They are quite often cash gifts, jewellery, cars and any other valuable or sentimental items
- Finally, who do you want to benefit from your estate and on what basis. We ask you to think about whether you would like to split your estate in equal on unequal shares
We have a questionnaire which we can email to you prior to your appointment if you require.
